The perfect Sunday…

Peacxh pubs sunday ri1223There are lots of recipes for cooking the perfect Sunday roast, but even the best involve hours of shopping, cooking and washing-up and that’s why we think our recipe tops the lot. Free-range beef, lamb or pork from Aubrey Allen, (plus a seasonal veggie wellington), crisp, golden, fluffy potatoes and a large, well-risen Yorkie… Plus, roasted veg and tureens of green vegetables, sauces ready on the table and unlimited jugs of gravy. Season to taste with your choice of family and friends – and when it’s finally time to go, all you have to do is wave to your waitress and leave us with the washing-up. Perfect.

Don’t take our word for it though… Here’s what some guests have been saying online.

Excellent Sunday Lunch

“We decided to eat here after reading previous reviews and so glad we did. Excellent service and made to feel very welcome. We both went for the beef sharing board which came with amazing Yorkshire puds , beautifully cooked veg and the most tender roast bed and ox cheek. We will definitely be back next time we are in Stratford.”

Sunday Lunch

“We went to the One Elm for an anniversary lunch and I can’t praise the staff enough. They were attentive without being overbearing, happy and polite. The roast beef Sunday lunch was excellent, if a little too much! The meat was perfectly cooked and the vegetables fresh and tasty, with lashings of gravy and the offer of more giant Yorkshire puddings. Yes, we will go again!”Peacxh pubs sunday ri1094

Delicious Sunday Lunch

“Having been visiting Stratford and lived their for quite a considerable amount of time, we cannot get over that it has taken us so long to come and eat here. We have ventured far and wide for a great Sunday roast but I think we may have found one of the best, right on our door step. Our plates were rammed full of food. And it quantity did not replace quality. The lamb was cooked excellently. The veg not over done. Sounds simple but it’s so often not the case. We felt like locals when they came over and offered us extra Yorkshires and roast potatoes (until we realised they offer that to everyone – a brilliant touch of excellent customer service). We ordered both the extras which were a delicious and unnecessary treat. But why not, eh? Sadly we were too full to take advantage of the reduced price Sunday roast dessert. I’ll make sure I try that next time. For £15 (plus the well worth it extras) I’m not sure I’ve had better.”
